This video is a PSA (Public Service Announcement) from the South Australian government. It tries to persuade people to get flu shots in order to stop the spread of flu, supposedly both swine flu and regular flu.

It may not persuade me to get a flu shot but it has convinced me to always cover my nose and mouth when I sneeze. Not that I don’t already try to, you understand, but a sneeze can often take you by surprise and you don’t catch it in time.

The start of this video is comical because the people about to sneeze look as if they’re about to do something which sees a different bodily fluid excreted from the body altogether. Yes, they pull sex faces.

But then they sneeze and the truth is revealed. It’s both awesome and disgusting to see a sneeze in slow motion – I must admit to not having realized gunk came out of both the nose and the mouth before now.

These tiny magnetic balls have the potential to become anything you want, from a simple cube to a rocket ship. I found myself mesmerized watching the hands manipulate the beads, effortlessly transforming them from one shape to the next.

The high-tech space age music only adds to the appeal of this hypnotic video.

Now I’ve just got one question. Where do I find myself a set of these tiny hematite spheres? Of course if I had my own, I may not get anything done, but they look like a whole lot of fun!

Next time someone attacks you with a shovel, make sure you’re packing putty.

This amazing video shows us how putty can be doughy and pliable one minute, then turn rock solid on impact.
In traditional Asian style, this clip doesn’t take itself too seriously. Shovel whacking aside, we also see how the putty can be placed inside a beanie to protect a watermelon.

But there’s a much more serious undercurrent. A putty beanie like this would be ideal for skiers, skateboarders, and cyclists. I’d also love an entire made from this putty stuff to protect me from my own clumsiness!
