Like Marmite, Guinness is very much a love it or hate it thing. If you’re not a fan after your first pint of the black stuff then you’re unlikely to ever be a fan of the drink.

Those of us who love Guinness, of which there are millions around the world, can today celebrate Arthur Guinness Day, which commemorates 250 since the man behind the drink set up the brewery.

This advert points out the obvious, that each Guinness glass actually tells you it has been 250 years thanks to the “Estd. 1759″ on the logo. And then plays a global game of Chinese whispers with some funny results.

Now, all I need to do is get my work done early today so I can go out for a few pints of Guinness. Which is exactly what the makers of the drink wanted from this day. That’s powerful advertising for you.

You don’t need to speak Russian to fall in love with this clever European commercial. After all, bad service is a universal experience.

But the people working in this Russian insurance office take poor customer service to a new, and very clever, level. The moment a customer arrives, the staff all spring into action. But it’s not the kind of behavior you’d want from any office workers!

These folks will do anything they can to hide away from customers, whether it’s disappearing into a pot plant or zooming up into the ceiling! While I’d never want to be on the end of this kind of customer service, I’d love to employ a few of these camouflage techniques.
